pictures by Coline Sénac

This week’s guest at APAD is Coline Sénac from Montreal. Coline sent us pictures from the series Fool’s gold.

Fool’s gold : the counter-mythology of the American dream; photomontages made up of pictures from abandoned parts of New York state’s countryside and isolated waste sites in New York city.
Each overview from New York landscapes corresponds to different representations of the American Dream. As you perceive the complementarity of the images, you get to consider these representations in a completely different way, as an evocation of a myth in decline, as a new countermythology. And from these miserably dead sights appeals to a return of life, and a new potential myth.
